The Clone...
I’ve fled him, I’ve chased him
I’ve even embraced him.
The specter of denial both
haunts and comforts me.
It’s convenient to blame others
and satisfying to deny our roll.
Denial is mental and always blames in
the light of truth. It searches my heart
for the truth only the heart can know.
My heart is the repository of ultimate
truths. The enemy of truth is denial.
The conflict in life is always a
push and pull between truth and denial.
Can I live a life of denial and still
claim to be me? To deny truth is
to deny reality and be merely a clone,
or a robot taking up space.
