'IF'
If
By
Syandene
If
I
could tell you
that in seeing you from a distance
tiny cells of brain
collide, crash, tumble
over one another
would you
say I needed my head read
call me a
sunrise too dim
to ascend
maybe I would
but you see
I cannot deny
this
mind state of emotional
ethereal
physical
that I have
for you
cannot deny
you
apricot coloured wish
and molasses in one
of you
But what the hey
maybe
ONE day
I'll wake
find the intensity for you was
just
another way of killing time
B-
fore
the PRIMAL shout of
I WANT YOU
NEED YOU
falling upon waste ground
though
If YOU DO
see me
looking, admiring
perfect physical symmetry
head held high
dust sculpted features
STRIKING
PLEASE
PLEASE
DON'T
turn away
for though I see you from a distance
I
still tremble
at this knowing
FEAR
lest you cradle me in flight
with you
drain me
yet
LEAVE ME STILL
WANTING YOU
