Self made prison

I once roamed free
Without any cares
No limits restrained
A soul so fair

I saw beauty in all
That fancied my view
Was loved by everyone
Who crossed my path too

But as I grew older
My fun turned to habit
I burned myself out from
Chasing the rabbit

So now I lived bound
By chains in a cell
Anguished by guilt
In my own living Hell

But this prison you see
Was unlike any other
It fractured my mind
I retreated further and further

The road that I face
Is long but not deserted
I can call on my Savior
When my heart starts to hurting

I may hit some roadblocks
While I'm trying to mend
But life's not about where you are
It's about where you end
