Giants
I run away from giants
Their shadows loom
Appearing from nowhere
At work
In the supermarket
On the street
It seems
They follow me
Everywhere I go
It might not seem real
That sense of fear is
Stopping me in my tracks
Force myself out
Of my castle walls
Everyday
Not an easy thing
On outside look calm
Inside I’m a panicking mess
Openly talk to myself
To rationalise the feelings
Must sound insane
Had funny looks
From people passing me by
Like I’m a freak
I’ve always faced giants
But the older I get
The less I cope with them
Their shadows loom
Appearing from nowhere
At work
In the supermarket
On the street
It seems
They follow me
Everywhere I go
It might not seem real
That sense of fear is
Stopping me in my tracks
Force myself out
Of my castle walls
Everyday
Not an easy thing
On outside look calm
Inside I’m a panicking mess
Openly talk to myself
To rationalise the feelings
Must sound insane
Had funny looks
From people passing me by
Like I’m a freak
I’ve always faced giants
But the older I get
The less I cope with them
