Ugly silence

They said love was that thing that gave the most feeling,  
but they never knew silence, as small and simple,
had the worse feeling.
 
It was alright to hide behind a full stop or an ellipsis, in a text.  
At times there was even a no reply or just ‘a seen’  
from whoever hurt our feelings,
with their freaking disturbing silence.
 
Perhaps,  from a second person’s view,  
we were the most emotional.
Perhaps, it was nothing, it didn’t matter,  
the words that weren’t spoken to conclude the matter  
or argument the statement, didn’t matter.
 
Okay, if that was the case, it would’ve been easier,  
if we all decided to be silent on every issue.  
What’s the point?
 
Probably, the statement didn’t deserve another word  
or sentence to be said.  
It might’ve been just a “lol” or an “okay”.  
If it ended that way, who in their right mind or senses,  
would argue it mattered  
or hurt someone that much.
 
Maybe, the last sentence was nothing to be considered.  
But what if, it birthed emotions,  
feelings that had long gone?  
 
So they gave a silence to something they themselves revived,  
an appearance, that wasn’t expected.
But as always, they remained silent,  
not explaining, or convincing, arguing or fighting anything.  
For some, it still doesn’t matter.  
 
Bur for people like her,  
and many it does.  
 
So,
Don’t start what you’re not ready to finish.  
And don’t hurt other’s feelings,  
without wanting to be the medicine they would need to heal,  
with your annoyingly disturbing ugly silence!
