Sugur Coated UV Light
Dad said
"I am not a positive person"
he waved , his elongated finger
in my face,
his brow raised forming the razer edge
of a blade.
Dad exsplained
That I run from the hands
that push me forward
preferring to Lean towards
the hands that keep me back.
Dad said
that if one is unable to trust
then how can one love?
I stick to the shadows
and avoid the light,
it's safer that way I replied.
Dad scoffed
choking on my very words.
as if Inhailing a tiny tornado
of razer blades.
Dad's eyes met mine
and instead of shouting
we stood there
frozen in symitery
then we hugged.
Years later
I can accept
Dad was right,
his words of wisdom
burn bright
illuminated
under a sugur coated
UV light.
I am not a positive person
But perhaps one day.
