Alist

When I walked into the bar
Felt my heart sink inside me
You were there, so beautiful
Young and successful, hurt me.

There I was, dumb and speechless
More or less, captivated
By your tan, tats and beauty
You're out of my league, daunted.

I made a joke and you laughed
Tried to hack a flirt, attempt
But for you, I'd be no match
Some hot, fine young catch will tempt.

And succeed better than me
More easy, less awkward then
And more handsome than my grin
I order a gin, again. 😢
