White or black, we were all taught.
When you were in your mother's womb, did you know how you were going to look like? Did you know the resultant of your skin's colour? Obviously, your response will be, "no."
You were brought forth into this world with the right skin tone in relation to the atmospheric condition of your environment. No one chooses; you are given, and whether you detest it or not, it is yours till you die.
Every single day, a child is born into this world; the location, the culture, the way of life, and norms are what defines and triggers the style or behavioral patterns of the child. What you teach, tell, or display to the child leaves a mental stigma. It goes a long way to affect them when they grow, and when they try to refrain from such a thought transferred to them since childhood, they find it tedious or are confused about why they should desist from such an act.
There should be a bond between whites and blacks. I wonder why they even gave that name to us."I am not black; you are not white. I mean that's what the world calls you, but it's not you. You didn't come from your mother's womb and say to everybody, "Hey everybody, I'M BLACK OR I'M WHITE", no, you were taught to be black or white."

This is less of a poem; it is sought of an eye-opener. You can take pride at who you are and where you were brought forth, but, don't take pride in abusing that pride.

Such a prolific write my poet, however, we are the reflection of our parents' genes and DNA, and no we are not taught to be black our white, its our characteristics that gives us merit to our heredity where is learned behavior, An example, if a child is born of Asia descent that child's dialect is not taught as an infant, it is learned behavior from the dialect of his parent(s) tongue by default. Now if perhaps that same child grows up within his culture and decides to adhere to another culture, then he is taught the dynamics to survive outside of his own leaned culture to give him stability.
In some countries in Africa, a boy must go though rituals (Ulwaluko initiation rite) which details circumcisions, seclusion, and isolation, he is taught about his 'history' and his 'responsibilities' to be a man, therefore, in my humbling opinion, disparity, separatism is what I would deem brainwashing into a way of living or a way of demise for others.
