Glass shards

Play my tricky little game
Dance through an ocean filled with flame

Eyes of emerald, tears of gold
Words of wisdom, oh so old

I didn't sleep and when I did,
I didn't dream
I didn't live and when I did,
I didn't scream

A cosmos of hearts bit just one will win
The one that accepts me and all of my sins

I will choose my own fate
Carve a path of bitter hate

You say you love me then stab me right back
You say you care but I'm under attack

Not scared of Death and his reaper scythe
But afraid of living, afraid of my life

Everyone acts serene
But people are hardly as perfect as they seem

I am a broken hourglass
I watch precious moments of my life pour out of me
I make no move to prevent this
For without memory we are only glass shells of a human

Author's Note
Meant to post this on the 21st. So it's been a year since I joined. It seems like so long but so quick. Anyway, this is a collection of stuff that I thought of but didn't make into poems, and ideas that I couldn't word properly. Basically bits and pieces of myself. Hence the glass shards title
