Autism - A Story About A Boy
". They live in a world you may not understand but their love and affection trumps any inner imperfections.”
I spoke to a mother
she grieves of her son
he’s just a boy with a smile
with love for everyone
first time we met
his arms were wide
he asked for a hug
I broke down and cried
I did what he asked
he’s just a boy, doesn’t know
he’s different then most
yet he'll be judged till he’s old
got the world ahead of him
but he'll be stuck in a place
like a permanent dream
where no one can relate
full of laughter and smiles
while his minds on a journey
the love that surrounds him
doesn’t understand why
He rocks himself sideways
Hides with his toys
Then screams really loudly
From the silence and noise
then flaps his arms
to the bird in the wind
maybe what we don’t understand
is he’s just a kid that’s gifted?
or how he speaks
comes without a thought
because he knows
more than what were taught
Sometimes he speaks
Yet nothing comes out
Maybe thats why hes
more frustrated and rundown
you can see it through his eyes
emotional, love that comes unique that way
his heart, it only shows
yet the words come out another way
For he is different
Stands out in any crowd
Searching for that missing piece
That connects him to this world
All he wants is acceptance
A daily struggle for purpose
When no one tries to understand him
Yet all he feels is love and affection
Although there all not one the same
Some live in fear, anger and shame
Some silent and some have no control
Feeling like there trapped within a cellar
Others come loose in rage
Like there a lion held within a cage
To me their all masterpieces in the making
though there minds gone haywire
There love it shows for everyone
It’s all their hearts desire?
in my eyes there the luckiest
ones to be written
of all the chapters I write
This one’s last for a reason.
