waves in the wind

as my fingers tremble
my lips part to the nervousness
as i trace the beauty
of the sea flowing down your skin
i exhale the athmosphere
and i breathe in the painting
that is your shell

would you mind if i broke down now
would you mind if i wept
i want to place you into the night sky
to hide you into the constellations
just for myself

i shudder as we meet halfway
at the mouth of the river
i hum impatiently
as i see us laying down
under a waterfall of leaves
dressed in the wind
as you braid your heart
into my hair

would you mind if gave in now
would you mind if i lost myself
i want to squeeze you out into the ocean
and let the waves carry me
moonlight pale

and for a second
i stop to let the scent in
a death of a flower
ripples in the wind
as you call my name
i drop one tear into the sky
and in the swelling fabric
we reflect as one
