I spend too much time in my own mind

I spend too much in my own mind
Mulling and musing
Contemplating, amusing
No one but the brain inside my head

Me, myself, and I
The man in the mirror
Go over every line
But it’s not any clearer

Asking why
Asking how
Asking if

I spend too much time in my own mind
Obsessing and assessing
It’s perplexing, what I’m addressing
Riddles asked and solved by only me

Me, myself, and I
The man in the mirror
Go over every line
But it’s not any clearer

Asking why
Asking how
Asking if

I spend too much time in my own mind
Thoughts racing, it’s amazing
How people are too smart for their own good

Where did I come from?
What’s the point?
What if I die today?
Think my life away

Asking who
Asking what
Asking where
Asking why
Asking how
Asking if

And it’s frantic
And it’s frantic
And it’s frantic
And it’s frantic
And it’s frantic

And I think the fact I wrote this is a sign
That I spend too much time in my own mind
