In Absentia

In absentia, he was
The life of the party
Come one day for that, he must
If only, reality.

The conversation always
Turns back to him from topic
As they lay out the mayonnaise
An empty seat, so drastic.

He's the life of the party
And, he isn't even there
Merely in their thoughts strongly
That is how much they all care.

A good dinner, it was
But social anxiety
Even with family, but -
He's there. In absentia.
