The Clearing
Moonlit midnight in the darkened forest
branches beckon you to come hither
tree spirits know sinners against nature
dark forest tree hugs are awesome
when you are one with nature
those who offend nature are strangled
deep in the dense dark forest
I experience no fear at all
I feel protected by natures spirits
A forest is a dangerous place
only for those who disrespect it
ghosts of the past seek retribution
in a clearing in the forest
a battle was fought in earnest
I can hear the pipes and drums
in the thick of battles eternal
I still hear cries and battlecries
sword against shield, blood well spilt
No spoils of war for Victors
they quietly disappear into the forest
weary, sore, licking heavily bloodstained wounds
Nature takes care of the dead
covers them in a moss hug
in the arms of the Goddess
they came from a kilted stardust
and stardust they will still shine
once they were brave warrior indeed
in tribute, the bows don't break
the tree spirits respect the Celts
even those who fall in battle
the blood that soaked the clearing
gave the possibility of new life
their deaths are never the end
branches beckon you to come hither
tree spirits know sinners against nature
dark forest tree hugs are awesome
when you are one with nature
those who offend nature are strangled
deep in the dense dark forest
I experience no fear at all
I feel protected by natures spirits
A forest is a dangerous place
