Fenobam
Here’s a random word slam you can post to your instagram
But it ain’t spam
It’s called Fenobam
An anxiety drug from some nineteen-seventy’s program
Labs came up with anxiolytic meds for heads feeling fear
Weird?
But in those years
Experimental drugs dug deep into the brain’s hemispheres
Check it out
It’s described as a negative allosteric modulator
Of the metabotropic glutamate receptor five
But my word translator doesn’t have an illustrator
It just what the article says after I’ve tried to contrive
But I’ve arrived at the conclusion I’m bad at Chemistry
Yet with poetry
Like a free spree
I’m glad to read this was never marketed commercially
This motherfucker had all kinds of fucked-up symptoms
But to keep it simple
Here are two examples
Psychotomimetic and amnesia would’ve gotten more victims
Yet more investigations have been made for applications
Into antidepressants, analgesic and anti-addictive effects
Wikipedia tends to scare me sometimes
With these random articles and obscure subjects

I love the rhyming aspect of this. As serious and potentially harmful product the flow of your write supports the idea that had this product been marketed for public consumption we’d be dealing with fallout akin to Thalidomide. Sometimes Wiki can be a good thing. Marvelous write. Best wishes in this comp.

Thank you for adding to your RL.
Yes, the article was interesting and yet a bit confusing in the medical terms (like I said, Chem wasn't my forte). But one thing leads to another and you can see why sometimes these drugs don't make it out to the public. Wikipedia is full of fun and interesting things.
