Mockingbird
People still say
That I can't be taught
A mangy mutt who bleeds ice
Dredged from below
My love is a cage
Twisted by all these vices
A tightrope that feels like a noose
Hell it's a resurrection
My name carries
A price and a promise
For my heart has gone rogue
Mockingbird
That's all it ever was
Never terrified but even still
Why can't you just stop me
Beelzebub, I hear him
Hit my knees in times of trouble
Descending into hysterics
On the highest high
Slaughter and pillage
Either too much or not enough
Holy man breaks my back
I regret for a moment
My name carries
A price and a promise
For my heart has gone rogue
Mockingbird
That's all it ever was
Never terrified but even still
Why can't you just stop me
Knee all busted
My teeth knocked out
Lawman and all kick my hide
Swear I'll die tonight
Last rites are said
I try to cry but I just can't
My hell is over, thank god for that
Before I go answer this
Why couldn't you just stop me
That I can't be taught
A mangy mutt who bleeds ice
Dredged from below
My love is a cage
Twisted by all these vices
A tightrope that feels like a noose
Hell it's a resurrection
My name carries
A price and a promise
For my heart has gone rogue
Mockingbird
