Casualties Of PTSD
Haunting memories of fatalities from serving on foreign land
PTSD can be debilitating after completing missions for Uncle Sam
Recollections crammed into cans of spam like cerebral chambers
Making you militant, hypervigilant, and always expecting danger
No stranger to unrelenting anger festering on the inside
Receiving mangers fraught with thoughts of committing suicide
But pride keeps you riding on tides in troubled waters
Not wanting to slaughter the psyche of your teenage daughter
Love for her being the cure for your afterlife aspirations
Glasses filled with distilled spirits and pills of prescription
Added to the equation to numb sensations of transience
Helping to return you to an enveloping state of blissful ambience

You spoke the truth about PTSD I am a veteran and a witness to the damage it definitely does to a soldiers mind and heart and soul sometimes with me it makes me cold blooded with anger fuel by nightmares of death I appreciate this piece from the depth of my heart and soul respect brother poet

Respect bro.. I'm an Army veteran who served 14 years. Deployed once to Baghdad in '06 and worked as a nurse in the ICU while there. Seen a lot bro.

Yeah I know what you mean I was in the army 6 years the thing that gets me when I have to deal with someone who just don't get it when I say back the fuck up you won't be able to deal with me on a mental and physical level for some of us including myself the nightmares are never over they are surpress deep within my subconsciousness for it doesn't take much to set it us off I have to take medication daily to control my emotions and feelings and thoughts it does get hard dealing with some people that make you want to kill them cause they just don't get it my friend calls me a ticking time bomb when those emotions and feelings hit respect brother poet
