Shrink
Ode to my beautiful body…
Creamy melting mess
Hidden under veil black
Like the mourning of Great Love
Once smooth, now treacherous
Threatening to swallow whole
To drown in indiscernible waterfall of flesh
Avert a gaze just to be touched
Painful and lovely all at once
Ashamed of my weakness
Deflated elasticity
Veil stripped.
The demon I cannot hide
Taking every inch
Disapproving every other
It's the eyes I cannot meet
When I can feel gravity
Pull me slack
Don't see me... Don't see me…
Discarded tenderness diverted
Distracted buried face in breast
Perhaps a moan will make your hands blind
Please... don't see me
Afraid to enjoy or trust it
Wishing I could just be
Everything
Instead of
Settled for
Willing myself to retract
Like shrink wrap from flame
I can love me in the dark
When you're not there to brighten the room
The mirrors in your eyes
Bring lies of adoration
Can't force it to make sense
I say it's not mine to believe
But I dismiss it anyway
You see through me like
You already knew I was invisible but
You smile
Apology betrays my tightened lids
And they open
As you tell me
I have a beautiful body
Creamy melting mess
Hidden under veil black
Like the mourning of Great Love
Once smooth, now treacherous
Threatening to swallow whole
To drown in indiscernible waterfall of flesh
Avert a gaze just to be touched
Painful and lovely all at once
Ashamed of my weakness
Deflated elasticity
Veil stripped.
The demon I cannot hide
