still life
melancholy reflections...
I look into the mirror of grief
captured there in black and white still life
my sadness gazes back at me
and with big soulful eyes studies me
melancholia the keeper of secrets
opens my diary of truths
pressed there in are little flowers of sorrow
I look to her and ask her take me to my happiness
watercolor days of bliss
with a solemn face she says not today
in attendance is your conscience
will you ignore her voice?
my mind replays photos of past events
snap shots of regret
I am deeply saddened but tears refuse to fall
I hold tightly to the pain
she opens the doors of understanding
there stands truth
allow acceptance to wash over you
in her arms you will find peace
come into the sacred halls of self worth
with a vow to a love yourself
your inner girl is waiting
forlorn and shaken
but ready for the journey before you
