Next to me

I close my eyes in the night while the darkness slithers away
I open them to the light of day
Through my window the light beams
I discard the thoughts that have draped my dreams
I turn my head and what do I see
The woman of my dreams lieing next to me
 
I step out the bed already wearing a smile  
I know life will still sucker punch me once and awhile
