Easter Lily

the confetti dawn wept for happiness
the joy of the day remembered
palms pierced...open in welcome
we are invited into his love

on that day he bow his head
and heavens said it is finished
the third day he rose
they wept tears of love for the man

feet shod with the preparation of peace
loins gird with truth
the shield of faith
he is the light and the way
he that believeth on him shall not perish
but have everlasting life

I pray I will be a handmaiden in his garden
a flower of hope
today I am renewed the desert sun shone
and I thought I would faint
he is the pure water to refresh my soul
I partake on this day

at the right hand of God, he has taken his place
I shall remember death no more
