Lost Lovers
the world erupts in confusion
yet I sit remembering you
laying here stripped naked
supine for the world to see
let their eyes rove
across my naked skin
nothing else matters
as I wrap you in my sin
the cold emptiness
as it scrapes across my soul
flaying me bare beneath you
as I beg you to make me whole
your absence screams so loudly
as solitude engulfs my mind
racked by sobs of loneliness
seeking something I'll never find
so I lie alone dreaming
of things I want, I need
my heart ruptured
yet it refuses to bleed
I know you're out there somewhere
beyond my reach in greed
I will forever long to feel you
my ideal, my lover, my steed
yet I sit remembering you
laying here stripped naked
supine for the world to see
let their eyes rove
across my naked skin
nothing else matters
as I wrap you in my sin
the cold emptiness
as it scrapes across my soul
flaying me bare beneath you
as I beg you to make me whole
your absence screams so loudly
as solitude engulfs my mind
racked by sobs of loneliness
seeking something I'll never find
so I lie alone dreaming
of things I want, I need
my heart ruptured
yet it refuses to bleed
I know you're out there somewhere
beyond my reach in greed
I will forever long to feel you
my ideal, my lover, my steed
