another evening
another night
…alone

I hugged the 2nd pillow
tighter this ebb’d spring
in the desert
for no reason
other than I am preparing
to dream –
lonely. . .

Memories of
Yes, they knew,
understood my
love
moreover
my need
for intimacy

As I coddle my pillow this night
as many past nights
& nights to come
i am reminded that I need
to be kinder to myself.
