ALIVE IN THE RHYME
She sat by the ocean
while the moon was still high,
she watched as the stars
disappeared from the sky,
she thought of the ones
she could no longer see,
she remembered the way
things used to be.
He walked through the forest
where great gums stood tall,
he gazed up in wonder
knowing they would not fall,
he touched a cool trunk
rubbed its’ smooth bark,
he remembered the times
they played in the park.
Both he and she had
travelled through time,
both he and she came
alive in the rhyme,
they both lived their lives
apart yet as one,
they both reminisced
with each setting sun.
