I think it was Osho who said, Avoid comfort. It is in facing difficulty that we grow. My Buddhist teacher calls it titration, leaning into discomfort, by increments.
I needed to search what that meant, and discovering it am pleased how your teacher married a scientific term with Buddhist philosophy. Then, if I remember, they're very interdisciplined (Haha.)
You know I did the same, went and looked it up and found the scientific definition. He taught us neuroscience far more than the dharma. Really feel lucky to have spent a year learning from him.
