A girl and her mare

With a click of the tongue
They set out in the early morn
Reigns hanging loosely
Her seat in the saddle is well worn
With a gentle squeeze of her knees
They move as one as the gait changes
She leans forward slightly
As they head for the ranges
Thundering hooves echoing
Dropping the reigns,arms wide spread
The mare free to fly
As she lets her have her head
Their freedom as one complete
The wind hitting her face
She leans back in the saddle
The mare slowing her pace
So gentle and strong
The bond they share
Trust that lies in
A girl and her mare
