Crimson Sky

Misty dew sketched a fire in frozen sky,
I saw a contour lit up in burning twilight.
Like a glimmer of joy shining with reprieve,
A distant prayer would at last be fulfilled.

Amidst the shadows of languid summer heat,
I saw her eyes sculpting promise in dreams.
Like a haunted hope sunk through eternity,
The gaze in her eyes granted a lust unto me.

I heard the song of the ancient trees,
The season of spring that went past.
Long forgotten the dying of the young,
Yellow the leaves that were detached.

As I saw her standing still drenched in June rain,
A sound of desperation seeped through my vein.
Burning in anguish my feelings they were undone,
I heard the cry of a distant thunder,
And the dying of the sun.

I have waited in this cold rain for far too long,
I have heard stories of happiness,
On the other side of the storm.
I saw a crimson sky that day,
Through droplets of dew.
Crystalline were your eyes,
Woven in blue.
