Child of the World
I want to run across the yard
climb up the trees
look down as if I was taller
than all the people who made me feel smaller
I'm not perfect
but I'm always true to myself
and if that's not good enough
then consider yourself not part of my life
refuse to stay still, I won't be fake
not content with being like everyone else
because now I see
the whole world can be wrong
now I see
that one person can be right
reality is not just perception
dreaming can also be reality
when all feels twisted
I will return
back to the hate
back to the love
back to the rage
and back to the start
holding on to that feeling
the one that keeps me thriving
growing old means giving in
to be me is a lack of giving a fuck
still fighting the balance between
me and everyone’s oversensitivity
I will stay forever young
passion flows through my blood
refusing to die without leaving my mark
the world is a playground
and we’re its children
I'll never pretend to be anything more
climb up the trees
look down as if I was taller
than all the people who made me feel smaller
I'm not perfect
but I'm always true to myself
and if that's not good enough
then consider yourself not part of my life
refuse to stay still, I won't be fake
not content with being like everyone else
because now I see
the whole world can be wrong
now I see
that one person can be right
reality is not just perception
dreaming can also be reality
when all feels twisted
I will return
back to the hate
back to the love
back to the rage
and back to the start
holding on to that feeling
the one that keeps me thriving
growing old means giving in
to be me is a lack of giving a fuck
still fighting the balance between
me and everyone’s oversensitivity
I will stay forever young
passion flows through my blood
refusing to die without leaving my mark
the world is a playground
and we’re its children
I'll never pretend to be anything more
