Homage
Mystics and sages,
shamans and spiritualists,
memorable members
of this strange species
with special messages
which move me so
and make it so
it's effortless to merge
with the forever surging magic
made known to all men..
amen
The writers
the poets
the prophets
the wise ones
with pens
opening eyes and minds
attempting to awaken
all of mankind.
Rearranged my reality
after allowing myself to
melt into the minds and souls of those
who knew and know
no one's alone
in this ancient zone..
those eternal souls
who've long since
passed on and through this realm..
I feel connected to them,
I ruminate on
their words
which illuminate on
never to be
gone or forgotten,
the feeling never forsaken
or mistaken for fantasy..
I thank you
Rumi and Huxley
for, with your
reassuring sureness
of everything being sacred and strange
in this universal union,
I became aware.
I thank you
Ginsberg, Bukowski and Morrison
for laying and displaying
the groundwork of
writing and being
freely
with no form or necessity to conform
with what's normal or anticipated,
to lay everything out on the lines
unconfined, undefined, no restraints
on pure self expression.
No doubt I shall continue to explore
many more works of wonder
and wisdom
seemingly infinite..
