Scale between 1 and 10
"If you could choose on a scale of 1 and 10 how likely do you think it would be that at any point today you might be assassinated?"
Sometimes people ask you a question and the first thing that wants to come out of your mouth is, "Are you completely out of your mind?"
Well that was every conversation between us, us being my best friend and I.
Always and without fail our days together would start with some completely out of your mind put you in a straight jacket kind of question.
And also without fail they had an amazing talent for saying it with a serious look in their eyes as though your answer was life and death.
It's the moments like that that make you realize how much you miss old friends, being totally carefree and even a little out of your mind.
"umm... well actually I dont think I would ever be assassinated you know, I'm not nearly that important, what about you?"
"I mean obviously you have thought about this ...just a little to much so?"
The few seconds it took for our eyes to meet I already knew that the answer was going to be just as crazy as the question, if not more so.
"11 of course" The answer was as flat and seriously toned as the look in their eyes as my friend nodded as though it was childishly simple how they could come to that kind of conclusion.
I couldnt stop myself from staring at them open mouthed.
"you think the possibility that you could be assassinated at any moment today is an 11?"
"Of course, I mean if you think about it who in the world could be more important then me?"
I wanted to laugh out loud, but that would halt the story I knew was about to follow.
So struggling to contain myself I forced my best serious co-conspirator look and nodded folding my arms over my chest and waited.
