Messed up
Incomplete

A paper doll
Cut up
Taped together
Ripped apart

A favorite sweater
Worn often
Stained
Thrown away

A bird
Flying away
Looking from afar
Keeping distance

A snake
Quiet
Deadly
Ready to strike

I'm a handful and I don't try to hide it
I have done things I'm not proud of
I have been both the monster and the victim

But no matter what
       I'm still me
