memories reflected

Underneath my skin
There's a soul that none can see.
A little less smiley,
A little less sure
Sometimes struggling
Sometimes desiring
Underneath my outside smile
A hidden frown
My granite face
Belies contorted
Extinguished flames
Tarnished dreams
Insatible essence
Bereft of desire
Stored in a tin box
Memories reflected
In the dusty
Attic mirror
Draped with cobwebs
For another time
