Unrehearsed
~○•●°
There's a certain thrill to accepting a vulnerable position. It's a risk taken in the presence of trust. Which probably doesn't make sense because the presence of trust mitigates the risk and makes it a very safe place with more to be gained than lost.
But still...
It's living in the moment. Like writing a speech for your sister's wedding and tossing it away to speak from the heart, unedited and unfiltered. With genuine funny and heart warming stories, not rehearsed jokes and tired anecdotes.
I used to do it all the time. Practice my jokes, write down stories that I could easily embellish for the pleasure of my audience.
I learned that the funniest laughs and the biggest tugs on the heart are always born in the moment. From some little spark that magically appears when you least expect it, to tease you like a firefly that dances in the night and leads you towards the light of understanding who you are.
On another note, I guess that's how it is with improv. That's something I've always wanted to try. To react purely and honestly, unrehearsed and in the moment with uninhibited sillyism, courageous romanticism and unchallenged dramatism.
I think I just made up two new words.
I should do this more often.
