THE SHIFTING
She saw him lying
in the yard
watched the others
who found it hard
to move him from
where he lay
she knew there was
something she had to say.
She approached the scene
with footsteps slow
as the others panicked,
they didn't know
that all was going
to be just right,
as again he went
back to the light.
Taking a while to
become aware,
she watched as he
realized she was there.
Tapped his shoulder
as they began to lift,
to remind him that
it was time to shift.
“What's holding you back,
it's time to go!”
He opened his eyes,
“Yes, I know!”
But there is no hurry
I need to stay here
until they can feel
my presence near.
