The phantom's testament (II of III)

The testament

“I was different then
Unaware of the blissful eternity
That lies before me
My passing was unjust to all
It was unfair and it was cruel
But so was the life I threw away
I pity you for reading my words
As I pitied myself for being forced to write them
But those words demanded a passing
And should the last page be seen
They will demand another
This is not the legacy I ask for
Please
One life is on my conscience
I urge you
I charge you
Place my book in the fire
And let my ashes be
There is a price for the eyes I own
And you hold a vicarious tool before you
Look at me now
Happy with the pleasures that await
Those words are nothing more than folly
A book of lies
I invented a girl owning my name
For Christ sake will you listen to me
Your story is not to end with mine”
I read on
