Ode to Nyx
Dearest Nyx, the gracious night, I praise you now
You brought forth with dark Erebus Hypnos so that I may sleep
Hemera so that the daylight may warm my spirits
Most importantly, you Nyx allow me to see the stars
To praise great Luna of the moon.
Praise to you Nyx for the comfort of night and the new things you abound
Praise to you Nyx for the quiet, the crickets chirping, the stars twinkling, the moonlit lovers
These are possible because of you.
Praise to you Nyx, I honor you here
Night is the most wonderful time
We must never forget all that beautiful Nyx has afforded us
Your Husband Erebus has given us a coat of darkness because you have allowed it
Your daughter Hemera lets the sun arise and the day come in because you have allowed it
Praise Nyx for all that you allow.
