Float Away
Wandering the halls alone
Barefoot & lost
but only for a moment
Down
in the
catacombs
Barefoot & Lost
I fear
the floodgates
Will be opened
Float away, float away
& I will be there
Brought here by a younger man
who is worried about the cost
Of retracing all my steps
to recover what I've lost
Reaching out;
To share
with you this torment
of being left alone
Caught up in the moment
Float away, float away;
Can you be there?
You cannot repay me
for all my sacrifice
For, you have betrayed me
with all your bad advice
Now,
I seem to be confused
as to where I can get in
Though I feel your rhythm;
Through the echoes
of where you've been
Float away, float away;
Will you be there?
I see a young girl
& her child
I seem
to make them smile
Because I'm barefoot
& I'm lost
With many bridges
to be crossed
I am barefoot
& I am lost
tho I do not feel afraid
For the melodies
of my heart
Escort me through
this escapade
Float away, float away;
Soon we'll be there...
Barefoot & lost
