Desert Flower
Hitchhike into eternity
you're searching
for the blue-grass
Tho, these fields are greener
you've got to carry on
So, fix your self a fat-tire
I'm looking for a reason
to keep you
past your bed-time
& enjoy this summer season
CHORUS:
Oh- my
I've found a desert flower
It grows upon a cactus
to protect it from the showers
It's soft to the touch
but it just might hurt
to squeeze
So, hold- on gently
I'm asking baby please
It's been so-oh long
Since you've had
to patch things up
that you do--n't remember
How it feels to be alone
So, have a sip of sun-shine
Learn to play them bones
Sign a- new lease on lyfe
& find a place called home
CHORUS:Oh my...
Can I come to see you
when I can't afford a thing
to talk about the weather
or give you my advice;
Now your not too drunk
to hear the truth
so read between the lines
It's been a while
since you walked in the door
but you haven't left my mind
CHORUS:Oh my...
Pick me up & put me down
I'm going out of my way
but it ain't too far
to get back to
where I was before
So, sit on this old porch-swing
tell me where you've been
Do all- those sweet things
that make this poor man grin
CHORUS:Desert flower...
Rolling in high-water
I'm bound to save a soul
Gunna go against the current
until every man's ashore
So let the- wind loft you
to where ever it may blow
So I can sense this feeling
where ever I want to go...
