A Boy into Man

Nothing he had but something he did,
pushing bricks like driving a toy car,
bare foot walking to school in all seasons.
crossing rivers in long distances , it was all fun to him.

His Father's Love was absent as it was a cultural norm.
only teachings were the presents from his father,
gifts that are expensive with no price tags.

The time had arrive for him to be a man,
ceremony of initiation progressed, goats & sheep slaughtered,
songs were sang while they were heading to the mountain
first love his father shared in that day,
"MY SON, YOU'RE A MAN, I LOVE YOU"

Those words were the music to his ears
he knew that love was all he wanted.
