Patient Mechanisms Beckon for Change
Days drag on by with little show of the effort our feet make
trudging along throughout the cities and suburbs
needles line the alleys leading to false salvation
where the ever so lost souls play in the ether of another dimension
Huygens once said that binary is the universal language
yet few know the combinations so contentment comes from chemicals
that flow through cells with an abundance of sweet affirmations that today will be okay
days drag by with nothing to gain but one thing
passersby look on with no emotion, no heart, no energy
but one cannot blame them for such lack of thought
patient mechanisms watch over the passing of moons
with little to show for the hands’ efforts
just another day guided by dragons leashed by none other than our demons
one day the sun will not be greeted by our eyes
and all that watched the suffering will be greeted with long buried lies
tears and conflicted emotions about whether or not this way is better
nothing could be worse than those who die in vain
one day the world will open its eyes and end pain
until then the mechanisms keep track of phases
footprints show where the lines were drawn
maybe in another life we will awaken to a new dawn
trudging along throughout the cities and suburbs
needles line the alleys leading to false salvation
where the ever so lost souls play in the ether of another dimension
