Skyscrapers were my saviour

In a small town
all your connections run deep

In a small town
there aren't many ways to keep

Hands very busy
and brains preoccupied

one day they suggest
hey-lets get high

In a small town
its easy to quickly loose track

nights melting to mornings
we'll never get back

In the small town
we ran the streets at night

In a big way these small towns
were our gateway plight

The small town
where I lived and I grew

I thought I was safe
but before I knew

The small town was a jail cell
sealing my fate

Until I made it to the city
and finally escaped

my small town run down mentality
no longer has the best of me

the slim towering skyline
is endless possiblities

and at last-
I am finally free.
