When
Mirror, mirror if only it could talk
The long haired woman thought as she sat
One year today he went to be with the Lord
One year today he began his walk.
The woman began to cry as she longed for his voice
She knew he was with Jesus
Each memory of him replayed in her head
Every moment, every choice.
One hour is but a thousand years
The woman reflected as she looked at her watch
Her grey hair needed to be cut as she looked in the mirror
The wrinkles around her eyes and the tears.
Five years had gone so fast
Since her man had went away
His arms used to hold her
Their love, their children and the past.
The Lord had never left her, his promise true
She still cried for him never to forget
The children had grown up and gone
Now she sat wishing for his "I love you".
She looked around the room
Twenty years seemed like a lifetime
Her man, her love never to return
She picked up the picture of them as the bride and groom.
One day she would see him again
No one could take his place
Her heart had waited a life time to see this man
It was just a matter of when.
