YEARS OF CAREFREE JOY
YEARS OF CAREFREE JOY
Land of joy, l passed you by when young.
It was in that house in which l lived
when my parents were around and filled
all the rooms with life quite free from care.
Food of peerless taste was offered there
to the children who should eat to grow.
Nothing in that house could bring us fear.
It did not exist in that old house.
Fear was hiding in the hearts of two,
who appeared to us so big and strong.
Under their strong wings, l pushed toy cars
on a carpet of oriental lines.
