I Love it Ugly

I like my poetry like my songs and pictures
...creatively whole, with no strictures

Like, I want the whole idea ugly big
Tiny and tight only sometimes fits the gig

Big enough to hold the whole
But chopped down to only its role

Nobody struggles with all the left out words
No rhymy lacing on idea turds
No asking "what did i spend
these five minutes for?"

I admit my poetry happens in fine print
but im trying to put my inner Ezra Pound
into the past where he and his feather belong
while respecting what his-story offers

I want beginnings reflecting
the title and end
without deflation of discovery
and meaningful tension

Ugly says plot
emotion
the real

Ugly is music
with strong pulse
compelling appeal

Don't hide your wrinkles
Don't color your grey
Don't keep your inner fool
so far at bay
Don't let noble ego

go

ruin the show
