A weight lifted
The energy that once filled my body with vigor has long subsided.
The only pump I get is my heart beating against my rib cage like a tidal wave.
Struggling, as do I, to rack the weight.
Don't get me started on these legs that tumble beneath me as I run.
Where once I ran marathons I now stumble like a man well spirited.
Lately the only laps I've ran have been to the refrigerator.
I stand as I watch my body fall into disrepair.
motivation has been replaced with a day of rest.
Sometimes it isn't just barbells we struggle to lift off our chest.
