Preserverence
The first step is most difficult, and seems to take the most strength.
With every muscle wanting to revolt, turn quickly and run, fast away.
The second, it's said, it's much easier. Then the third, the fourth, as it goes.
Passing steps snuffing out your fears, until fear soon becomes just a ghost.
You'll find that you'll forget count, as the number of steps grows too great.
Your footsteps no longer making sound, as your feet and your shoes integrate.
Some people will walk for a thousand years. We're each on a journey, unique.
Stay the course, give no power to your fears. Never succumb to defeat.
Far sooner than you may realize, you will meet up with your destination.
Stay true, accept no compromise, and you'll get there with self-preservation.
If you've the ability to see it through, and have done so, your soul still in tact,
you'll be able to rest and take in the view. You'll care not to even look back.
