i’d paint you in soft brush strokes
how your hair always falls in your eyes
when you laugh at my stupid jokes
 
i’d line your eyes as they sparkle
and accentuate the blues and greens
i’d try to capture how they always light up
when you talk about your dreams
 
if I could put you on a canvas
my lines and corners would be seamless
like waves crashing down on the shore
its harmony has left me speechless
 
and if just one picture holds a thousand words
just one stroke of you would hold ten thousand
strokes that make the music we sing songs to
and the kind that will tell tales of a legend
 
if I could put you on a canvas
that’s only a moment of time we would see
nobody would know your heart and soul
just by looking upon this masterpiece
 
they wouldn’t see the times I hold dear
all those moments when you made me melt
they won’t be able to see these emotions
nor all of the beautiful things that I have felt
 
if I could put you on canvas
i’d only be doing the world a favor
a heart like gold and a love like yours
it’s something that I intend to savor
 
when all the strokes are set in place
and I feel your essence has been honored
i’ll hang it at the center of my world
