Image for the poem Before the sun died

Before the sun died

Oh
lovely oak
 in primrose
  meadow.

 pink
poppies
  in timber
      parcels
 of silver
   grass,

 and
 those
raindrops
   falling on
  sleepy
   springtime
lambs.

how
dying
cuckoo
flowers
 turn to
ash beneath
  sunlit breeze.

    white
  starlings
in blossoms
   a bloom

    whilst
   ageing
   yellow
 rose on
   muddied
   branches
of wild
cherries,

    ice.
