It was where the songbirds slept

Snowflakes
in thundery
showers of
rain.
 
stillness
of
old
age
ice foot
   kissing
    crust of
       mud.
 
killing
time,
soily
palette of
 rosebuds
beneath the
rising sun off -
     white.
 
wounded
   hands in
wild rivers
 unclasped,
  before death
to sleepy straw
      man.
