Barnard"s Star

to travel to another star
let go of who you think you are...
Earth's a speck which disappears
along with all your foolish fears

as in between a current flows
electrifying stars whose glows
shine in the space that's all around
with quiet light, without a sound

yellow, red and blazing blue
stars are beings just like you
birth and death and in between
living life in the same dream
-
let go of who you think you are
let go and fly to Barnard's star
let go of Earth, the Moon, the Sun
let go, arise, becoming one

with all the space between that's filled
with emptiness, the void's dark thrill
to Barnard's star whose reddish glow
becomes the goal where you must go

there's a world like Saturn there
where a moon revolves with fresh sweet air
where springs of life with water flow...
let go of what you think you know -

Author's Note
Best with headphones...Barnard's Star is a red dwarf about 6 light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Ophiuchus. It is the fourth-nearest-known individual star to the Sun
